But here we are in fall in Korea yet again. It is our favorite time of year here. We just finished a few weeks of teaching since our vacation with only two more months until we depart for AMERICA. It has been a wonderfully challenging experience to be in Korea as teachers for what will be 18 months once we leave on Dec 12. For the past 15-ish months, God has been teaching us about how we do with living in another culture and have learned invaluable experience in learning to adapt in a place where almost nothing is familiar. Now, we are super excited to be embracing our last bit of time here while looking to the road ahead. It's gonna be good. We are trusting and praying that God has his hand all over it.
In our endeavor to soak up every last bit of Korea, we recently took a trip up to Gwangdeok Mt. (Pics to come) and enjoyed the best part of living in Cheonan: The Cheonan World Dance Festival. It is held every fall along the main street. (below) Performers come from around the world to perform their native traditional dance in events for three days including a parade, concert and performances in a fair ground. There are so many beautiful costumes and some groups play their traditional music live.
This Festival really touches my heart. It is such a rare occasion to see many nations come together for a time to just be together differences aside, cheering one another on. I think I cried when the dancers from Amsterdam performed the Gangnam Style dance. The Koreans loved it. Bridging cultures through dance. <3 it!
Three months ago, we also decided to adopt a dog/werewolf from Asan Shelter. He has been such a blessing and a pain, at times. We love him to pieces. Meet Foster. (below)
Foster is anticipating going back to America in two weeks with his Grandmama, Bonnie. He is excited to experience the American dream.
More updates to come!
Thanks for reading.
Love,
The Yorks
